Here’s the audio from this evenings service where I preached on Matthew 27.46 and Jesus’ words from the cross, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” In this sermon, I argue that Jesus’ words were in actuality a reference to the entirety of the Psalm (not just Ps 22.1), which ends with the psalmist (and also the Lord) not being abandoned by God, but rather, with the psalmist being redeemed and upheld – which in return means that Christ was upheld and not abandoned on the cross.
